22 New Fairfield High School Students Earn the Connecticut Seal of Biliteracy in 2026

New Fairfield High School would like to congratulate this year’s recipients of the Connecticut Seal of Biliteracy. This number, coupled with the students that earned the Seal last year, means that 45 students in our high school student body have reached this very accomplished achievement over the past two academic years.

Established by Public Act 17-29 in 2017, the Connecticut State Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by school districts to high school students who have attained proficiency in English and one or more other languages. Established in 2017, it is affixed to diplomas and transcripts to recognize multilingual skills for college and career, highlighting proficiency in both English and world languages, including American Sign Language. The Seal recognizes and honors the linguistic resources of students, promoting proficiency in multiple languages as a 21st-century skill.

Students will be honored at an in-school ceremony on June 2nd.
