Our kindergarteners had an exciting field trip to the New Fairfield Company A Volunteer Fire Department and Police Station to learn more about the important community helpers who keep us safe, extending our first social studies unit of the year.
At the fire station, members of the department talked about fire safety, showed the different parts of the fire truck and gear, and explained what to do in case of a fire. The highlight for many students was getting to sit inside the fire truck and spraying the hose!
Afterward, the children visited the police station, where Officer Scocozza gave them a special tour. He shared how police officers help protect people and keep our community safe. It was a fun and educational day full of hands-on learning and smiles!
