Dear New Fairfield Community,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I am reaching out with a brief update ahead of my back-to-school newsletter, which will be sent to you during the week of August 21. Each of our principals will also be sending out their welcome back letter next week as we continue with final preparations for the opening of school. In addition, please note that teacher assignments and student schedules will be accessible from the PowerSchool Portal on Friday, August 25. Instructions for logging in to the portal will be sent to you in a separate communication from our Technology Department.
In other news, I am pleased to announce that the New Fairfield Public Schools has hired Ms. Maria Kennedy as the next Director of PPS. Ms. Kennedy has worked for the East Hartford Public Schools for the past 13 years. She has served as a Supervisor for Special Education since 2018, and prior to that, she worked as a School Psychologist at the Woodland School in a therapeutic day program for grades K-12.
