Philosophy of the Fine Arts in New Fairfield
The New Fairfield Public Schools Fine and Performing Arts Department is dedicated to providing high-quality curriculum, instruction, and artistic opportunities to all students. 

We believe the arts:

  • Are an essential part of every child’s well-rounded education. 

  • Develop the whole child as flexible, divergent, original, critical and creative thinkers

  • Empower students to explore and express their social emotional growth within the creative process and lead them to be self-determined, self-reliant individuals.

  • Cultivate safe, diverse, and equitable artistic experiences through literacy, creating, performing/presenting, responding, and connecting to global influences that lead students to be engaged global citizens. 

Fine and Performing Arts in New Fairfield Public Schools are accessible by all children, aiding students in being talented communicators when words are difficult or not there. Their experiences prepare students to be lifelong arts creators, enthusiasts, and consumers.
