May 3, 2022
As you know, earlier this spring, I announced my retirement from my position of Superintendent of the New Fairfield Schools. This was a difficult decision for me, but I had reached the point in my life where the pace of the position was no longer one that I wanted to maintain. Since that time, I came across an opportunity that allows me to continue the work that I love, in a much more modest capacity.
When I announced my retirement, I was asked to apply for the position of Interim, Part-time Superintendent at The Sherman School. So I did, and as a result, I will be appointed as the Interim, Part-time Superintendent at The Sherman School starting on July 1, 2022. This is a 2-day a week position in a PreK-8 school system that has 240 children. It is a perfect role for me as I leave New Fairfield and full-time employment.
I have assured the New Fairfield Board of Education that I am dedicated to a seamless transition between myself and the incoming Superintendent. I will be available to the New Fairfield administrative staff during the summer and into the fall as needed. Many thanks for your support and kindness.
