Conduct Code
MIDDLE SCHOOL CONDUCT CODE
All middle school students are expected to review the conduct code for our school with their parents. The Safe Schools Pledge must be signed by the student and a parent/guardian and submitted to our school each year. The behaviors listed on our conduct code are not intended to be all inclusive. Parents and students may also refer to the student handbook printed in the front of the daily agenda (assignment) pad and/or to Board of Education policies in the 5000 section for additional information regarding policies, practices, and procedures related to student discipline.
Normally, teachers are the first persons to administer consequences for student behavior in the classroom, lunchroom, and hallways. Building administrators may be informed of classroom discipline for minor infractions. Building administrators, or their designees, are responsible for administering consequences for all serious disciplinary matters. Administrators have the sole discretion in determining the level of a consequence within the range of options listed. It is possible that an administrator may exceed the listed range if a specific incident, or a series of incidents, warrants such action.
