Family and Consumer Science Objectives
When a student completes one of our courses, he or should will be able to:
- Integrate multiple life roles and responsibilities in family, career, and community roles and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate management of individual and family resources, including food, clothing, shelter, health care, and recreation.
- Evaluate nutrition principles, food plans, preparation, techniques, and specialized dietary plans.
- Demonstrate respectful and caring relationships in the family, workplace, and community.
- Demonstrate nutrition and wellness practices that enhance individual and family well-being.
- Demonstrate skills needed to produce, alter, or repair textiles, products, and apparel.
- Analyze factors in developing long-term financial management plan.
- Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and other child development theories when planning for early childhood education and services.
- Demonstrate appreciation for diverse perspectives, needs, and characteristics of individuals and families.
- Evaluate the impact of parenting roles and responsibilities on strengthening the well-being of individuals and families.
