The Meeting House Hill School renovation project is now underway!  After more than a year of planning, work has begun.  We are very excited about this project and the amazing school we will have when it is all completed.  We will keep you updated on our progress throughout the year through this link, so we hope you'll check often.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so we will keep them coming throughout the project!

We're moving back in!!  It's exciting to see the fifth grade furniture moving back in.  Soon teachers will be able to set up their rooms for students.  We are getting creative in decorating our concrete walls!

August 16, 2010:

Things are really getting exciting now!  While there is still more abatement to be done in the Butler Wing, it was open for a while today and we were able to get some pictures.  It looks like an airplane hanger!  All empty.  Abatement will start again tomorrow on the windows.  Fifth grade  teachers and our art teachers came to visit today.  We put on our hard hats and toured the fifth grade wing to think about ways to get it ready for students.  There were lots of great ideas such as students painting murals on the walls.  We look forward to a rustic, but fun start to the school year for fifth grades.  Thanks to Bob Cullen, our head custodian for helping us out each and every day!  We couldn't do this without his expertise.

August 9, 2010:

Exciting news, the 200 wing (fifth grade) has completed most abatement and is reopened for workers to prepare it for school.  Lighting will be replaced, walls put where needed and floors sealed.  Right now you can see from Mrs. Kelley's room all the way to Mr. Schlosser's room through the holes from taking down the chalkboards!  In addition, the Butler Wing abatement is well under way now.  Finally, work has begun to put up temporary dividing walls where needed for shared spaces next year.  Take a peek!

July 24, 2010:

Abatement began this past week in the Butler Wing and the 200 wing (fifth grade).  Abatement will take several weeks.  Once completed demolition of the Butler Wing will begin.  The fifth grade wing will be readied for school to begin, but will have temporary floors, ceilings and some other project related changes.  The schedule calls for fifth grades to move into the newly constructed wing in April.  We will keep you posted on this schedule as we move through the year.
