Standards-based Report Cards
The K-5 report card is being revised to ensure that every student and family receive accurate, ongoing information about student progress toward learning goals. These standards are the foundation of our curriculum and align with those of the CT State Department of Education. Standards are specific and readily measureable. As students progress toward each standard, they are graded accordingly—3 for exceeding the standard, 2 for meeting the standard, and 1 for progressing toward the standard. Measureable standards provide more specific information than traditional letter grades. Teachers involved in the report card pilot will regularly communicate with parents.
