Welcome to New Fairfield Middle School. Because we want to offer your child a well-rounded education, we need to work as a team to support your child both academically and socially. Therefore we are asking you to share any concerns you may have regarding your child's academic progress with the teachers on the team or your child's guidance counselor. If there is a situation at home that may affect your child in school please call your child's guidance counselor so they can share your concerns with his/her teachers.

We have several programs in place to support students:
G.E.M.S. Program (Guiding, Empowering, Mentoring for Success), Adult volunteer are recruited and trained each year to mentor students in grades 6-12.
Mentors spend approximately one hour of quality time with a student in the school setting.
Peer Mediation Program is a program that allows two students who are having a conflict sit face to face and talk uninterrupted, so each is heard with the assistance of a mediator. After the problem is defined, solutions are created then evaluated. When an agreement is reached, it is written and signed. Mediation creates a positive school environment in which students can learn peaceful ways to resolve conflicts.
Guidance Counselors are working in conjuction with Mrs. DeRoin the Health Teacher in 7th and 8th Grade to incorporate developmental guidance.
