Tips and Hints

Study Strategy: SKIMMING

 We have been working on using our index fingers to skim columns in text in order to find information.  We have learned we can find answers to questions if we first find the key words and then read the entire sentence.  We have practiced this strategy using National Geographic articles for Science.

We have also learned to look at headlines in newspapers and headings of columns to help us quickly find topics needed to answer questions.

We know these strategies will help us to locate information as well as help us to study for tests and quizzes.
