This year the library got 150 new books that means we get more choices of what to read! Mrs. Anderson came in and told us about some of the new books. I hope you liked this week's newsletter.</div> <bR> <bR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> BEGINNING OF THE YEAR ASSEMBLY</div> <div> By Sara B.</div> <div> As usual we have a Beginning of the year assembly but this year its different because we're fourth  graders now ! Also we're the ones singing the MHHS song (<U>Start Off The Day</U>) not the <U>Consolidated Song</U>! It was SO loud! We went over what each word of the Pledge of Allegiance means. Mrs. McLain also read us some fantastic poems! We also sang the famous song <U>The Grand Old Flag</U>! It was a lot of fun! People were screaming like crazy! Once our class heard about it we got very excited! It was fabulous!</div> <bR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <B>Specials at MHHS</B></div> <div> <B>By Paige B.</B></div> <bR> <div> In fourth grade we have different specials. We have gym which is fun. Sometimes in gym we get to sit on scooters and roll around and we have to hit a giant ball. It is really fun!  In music, we will usually go over notes and sing songs and we get to learn new notes on the recorder.  We also have art which is really fun.  Every year at the beginning of the year we usually do fireworks.  My class just finished fireworks.  Now we are working on making animals.  First we draw and color the animal.  Then we cut the animal out and finely we make a background.  We make a background by taking colored tissue paper the and rip it up then put water on your piece of paper, put the tissue paper on it and then put water on top of the tissue paper.  In library we get to pick out whatever books you want.  Library is not a special in fourth grade we just go and pick out books and do research on the on the computer.   </div> <bR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <B>MISS PILKINGTON AND GYM</B></div> <div> <B>By Logan M.</B></div> <bR> <div> Welcome! This year we have a new gym teacher! Her name seems to be Miss Pilkington. She is filling in for Mrs. Nelson but she is filling in forever! Mrs. Nelson still visits, but she does not teach. Miss. Pilkington is new to our school. She is young, tall and very nice. The gym is different too. They bought new stuff for the gym, like a Wii and more stuff. If you visit the gym, it won't look different but you can feel that it is!</div> <bR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <B>Class Room Library</B></div> <div> <B>By,</B></div> <div> <B>Freddy T.</B></div> <bR> <div> Class room 408 has an amazing library. It has tons of books & they are all divided into sections. There are some really cool books like Star Wars, Magic Tree House & Junie B. Jones. I think this library should get an award. That is the news.</div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <I>SCIENCE</I></div> <div> <I>BY, MATTHEW P.</I></div> <div> In school we switch to Mrs. Woods class for science. Also Mrs. Woods's class comes to our class for social studies. In science we learn about the Metric System and how to measure in the Metric System. Did you know that the United States and four other countries don't use Metric System? Sometimes we even get to play fun games.
