Emergency Dismissal Notification System
|
The PTO of MHHS is pleased to offer a fee-based phone message service to New Fairfield Meeting House Hill School families who wish to subscribe. CallingPost is a service that allows the PTO to place simultaneous phone calls to subscribing families in the event of an emergency early school closing. The school currently notifies families by local radio announcements, Channel 8, the inclement weather line 312-5936 and on the internet at www.ctweather.com - then click on “school cancellation”. CallingPost is an optional service available to families that would prefer the convenience of a phone call in case of emergency school dismissal and in the event of a non weather related closing or delayed opening (i.e. transportation or heating problem).
Here's how it works: In the event of an emergency dismissal, a message is phoned into CallingPost and digitally recorded. CallingPost then simultaneously places calls to all phone numbers registered in our CallingPost account. When you (or your answering machine) answer the telephone you hear a brief, computer-generated announcement, followed by the actual message recorded by the authorized committee member. The message will repeat once and you will have the option to replay it. If CallingPost receives no answer, it will retry the number 13 times.
Please be advised the success of this service is predicated upon the PTO having accurate and updated home and emergency phone numbers that will reach a “real life” person or reliable answering machine or voice-mail service. MHHS and the PTO of MHHS do not accept responsibility for CallingPost calls that are not successfully delivered.
You may register as many numbers with CallingPost as you would like. For example, you might want to include home, office, cell phone, a neighbor or relative; you decide. The numbers will never be shared or sold. If you would like to sign up for CallingPost, the cost is $2.00 per family to register one phone number; additional numbers may be registered for $1.00 each. To subscribe, please fill out the attached form, enclose your payment, and return to school in an envelope marked, “PTO - CallingPost.” For more information, please call Kathy Lynch at 746-8302.
Disclaimer: Meeting House Hill School and the PTO of MHHS are not responsible for any technical difficulties arising between the CallingPost system and the individual subscribers, nor can they guarantee that individuals will receive notification calls since calls sent are in part dependent on each individual being able to access their phone in a timely manner.
