Post Graduation Party Information
For more information and to volunteer or donate - call the party chairperson -
Joanne Librie (746- 4385)
Our community, parents, teachers and alumni will be hosting the 18th annual after- graduation party for
our high school seniors Saturday night, June 24th, 2006.
You are cordially invited to join us in this endeavor.
We are taking monetary and gift donations of all sizes (however small) in order to put on the party, provide food and drink, prizes and put together a
goodie bag for each senior.
We need painters during the month of May. All that is required is someone who can paint sections of pictures, the colors and designs are drawn by our artists,
so no art talent is required.
We need people to tape and hang pictures and decorations during the three days before the party.
We need volunteers to work the night of the party, helping to run a carnival game,
give out food, or help out in other ways.
We also need a work crew to dismantle the set up, scaffolding and decorations early the following morning, Sunday, June 25th from 5 am to 8 am. If you have a hammer and a ladder, it is helpful to bring one.
Norm Schemchysen is the chairman of this committee.
Junior Parents - please see the letter below regarding the junior trunk:
Dear New Fairfield High School Junior Students and Parents:
On June 24, 2006, the New Fairfield High School Senior Class will be graduating and enjoying one last night together at the Post Graduation Party. Once again, we are collecting items for the Junior Trunk. Hopefully, we will be able to collect enough to fill 2 trunks (his and hers). The trunks will be awarded as prizes at the Post Grad Party, compliments of the Junior Class. We started this tradition three years ago, and it has been a big hit. And now we need your help to keep up this tradition.
The contents of the trunks range from simple to substantial, from sewing kit to stereo. You can donate something as practical as Post-It Notes, or consider joining with other families to share in donating larger items. If shopping and selecting an item is not your thing, monetary donations or gift certificates are equally useful and we will do the shopping on your behalf.
Below are some ideas: 2 Trunks (Please Call First)
Desk Lamp Fan Umbrella Towels
Notebooks Ext. Cords Snacks Sheets (X-Long)
Desk Supplies Power Strip Phone Cards Blanket
Pencil Sharpener Batteries Detergent Comforter
Stapler Alarm Clock Laundry Hamper Pillows
White Board Flashlight Sewing Kit Mattress Pad(X-Long)
Bulletin Board Blank CDs Cleaning Supp. Under-Bed Storage
Desk Blotter Printer Hangers Iron/Board (portable)
Stamps Printer Paper Shower Caddy
This is by no means a complete list. A college freshman's needs are seemingly endless. So feel free to expand beyond these suggestions.
We would like to receive all of your generous gifts no later than Friday, June 9, 2006, so that we may “pack the trunks” in time for the big night. Checks should be made payable to: NFHS and sent to NFHS, 54 Gillotti Road, New Fairfield, CT 06812, Attn: Barbara Schwalbe.
Please note “Junior Trunk” on the memo line of your check.
If you have any questions, or would like to arrange for drop-off or pick-up of a donation, please contact Terry Scala (746-1309).
Thank you so much for your help with this great project. We look forward to an exciting event.
