G.E.M.S. Mentoring Program
The G.E.M.S. (Guiding, Empowering, Mentoring for Success) is a school-based mentoring program in the New Fairfield school system.  Mentors meet with students on school grounds during the academic year for one hour a week to talk, listen, play games, help with homework, or just share experiences.

Mentoring can make a difference in many ways.  Some of the goals of our program are to improve academic performance, behavior, and attitudes toward school.  With these changes comes an enhanced self-esteem and motivation to succeed.

A mentor is a role model who knows how to develop a supportive relationship with a child in need.   G.E.M.S. Mentoring Brochure
