A Guided Reading Lesson
During a guided reading lesson at school, your child is introduced to a new book. First, your child will take a picture walk through his/her book. Your child will attempt to figure out what the book is about and what the pictures contain. Then, the teacher will read the book to your child. After your child has heard the book, your child will read the book with the teacher. Next, your child will read the book to the teacher. Finally, your child will work on specific objectives relating to the book your child is reading and to his/her specific needs.
